Aceites y Proteínas S.A. de C.V. was established in 1973 as a visionary response to the changing agricultural landscape. At the time, the states of Sinaloa and Sonora were the nation’s breadbaskets, yet the bulk of grain production needed transportation to the central region of the country for processing.

This prompted the innovative idea to initiate seed processing in Sinaloa, keeping the protein pastes within the state and transporting the oil to the central region. This pioneering vision led to the establishment of Aceites y Proteínas S.A. de C.V. as the first modern extraction plant in the state, specializing in the milling of Soybean and Safflower Seeds.

Prior to the advent of free trade agreements, Aceites y Proteínas S.A. de C.V. confronted stiff competition from major international corporations. It was during this period that our high oleic safflower oil entered the market, with a substantial 90% export share to the United States of America and various countries across Asia and Europe.

Furthermore, Aceites y Proteínas S.A. de C.V. has played a pivotal role in collaborating with Mexican agriculture by advocating the cultivation of oilseeds, introducing new seed varieties, and providing financial support to Mexican farmers through strategic alliances and contract farming agreements. This commitment ensures a consistent supply of raw materials and, consequently, the fulfillment of high international quality standards for our valued customers.

Currently, Aceites y Proteínas S.A. de C.V. holds a commanding 50% market share in the oilseeds sector within northwestern Mexico.
